Here's another classic laser from 1974, the Spectra-Physics model 156 he-ne. This one's from the original owner, and in original box with instructions.

How in the hell would you pump that?

I do not have any idea how I would pump that, I am only interested in CW lasers anyway.
That guy has a LOT of very coolish minerals for sale!! and Magnets, they get me thinking of building a wind powered electricity generator..
I wonder what would happen if you stuck a couple on the -right- spots on the outside of a galvo!
    A magnetic "success" enhancer? LOL

absolon thanks for pointing his rod out

Linear flashlamps have been made in 36" lengths before.

You put 4 flashlamps around it. Job Jobbed.

I installed a 6 lamp system six months ago. Five lamps and a spare in case you can't make rated power. The Active lamps are chosen for the best beam profile. At one shot every ten seconds, the lamps were beefy enough that the calculated lifetime was 10 years of firing.

The 19 potential buyers may be in for a shock if they rework that. Manmade ruby rods have near zero defects and no gas bubbles. A jeweler takes one look under a microscope and knows instantly.

Galvos often use crossed fields internally. Your galvo would be "confused" to say the least.

I have a pretty good idea about who this person is and where the equipment came from. :roll eyes:

    Top notch guy!

Replied to! So you are the winner of this then, awesome! I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about.
