Oh ok, I see . On sale. I thought it was sudden inflation.

Selectable rotating scan-thru. Just punch out the gobos and add your effects. This would have to be right smack in front of the scanners though.

This listing makes me think that one of us should design and start 3D printing a rotating gobo assembly. That combined with variable speed (including uber-slow) geared drive motors and DMX control would be worth around US$200 IMO.

if you do the cad work, i'll laser cut you a test unit...
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Hmmm. Cutting is cleaner than printing. Can you cut ~5mm plastic or acrylic, Swami? We'd need EKeefe's awesomeness as well. . .

    Hello,

When I was at FLEM last year there was talk of doing a scan through wheel.

I would be happy to help with this project. I can design the electronics and motor drivers (DC and/or stepper). I can also prototype it if that is helpful.

I bought the gobo wheel absolom7691 linked to, so I can use it as a reference. I can measure it up and scale the drawing for the aperture size we decide on.

Let me know how I can help.

    ED

my laser cutter can cut it, engrave it, make lattes, and spank babies.

Awesome, Mr. K! I saw that gobo wheel but its design isn't appropriate for most scan through laser effects based on my experience. I will ring you early next week so we can discuss in more detail.

Also awesome, Swami, and may explain some of the random infant noise coming from out your way.

this is not a time where theory and reality intersect on the graph.

This guy has a bunch of parts for the MG DPSS lasers, which he claims are new http://www.ebay.com/sch/photonicshop...p2047675.l2562 might be just the ticket for repairing that sick MG head in your closet
