three phase is a bit rough.

i'm waiting for my engraver to arrive. when here, i'll check it for functionality and decided how to proceed. i was told that it had the fiber laser, but not the pump for it. i do know it has 6800's, amps, and the f-theta.

there's also some temptation to fiber feed IR from a 'scope through it. we'll see.

Model 7100 MQ, ~120 Watts Qswitched 1064 multimode, about 21 watts when set up Tem00 Qswitched when new.. 200 to 600 nS pulse (kind of long) depending on PRF and lamp current. I popped the lamp cavity and the gold plating looks good on both lasers, but I'm unable to test... because of office politics and the internal shipping fee to haul them across campus. Heads are 75 pounds or so and PSU is 340 pounds each with the water to water re-circulators in the 19" racks.. Even have the head crate (1 pallet) and PSUs (would be another pallet) Even have the manuals for once... If you want to play the PSU lottery, well there are two complete lasers, and That's up to you. Certainly need new lamp clips (130$ a set), probably a new lamp, and DI filters...

I have officially have corporate nothing to do with them, but I did look at them, and decided more IR lasers were something I did not need... Although these were/are the Ferrari of industrial lamp pumped lasers. They were gifted to my academic employer by a big local company as a tax write-off, but probably never used once here.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Laser power meter here, looks to be a fair price.

    Swami,

If I were dreaming of nearly unlimited marking power...

I'd replace the LEE lamp PSU with a Laserscope single phase PSU... If I bought the lasers and If I had cash... Or just strap the Lee head to a Laserscope chassis.. All that is needed is Two hoses, coaxial HV wire, one coax for the q-switch... That's it. Well and maybe a overtemp sensor for sanity.

The mode limiting resonator of the Lee will kick the LS as$ in spot size and stability... less then 2mR divergence tem00, diameter 1.2 mm TEM00, 4 mm Multimode, according to the test sheet on my desk.

I have a question about that laser power meter, does it use a TEC or thermopile or a diffrent type of sensor? my little one uses a type of photo voltaic sensor and then has a chart to correct for it's sensitivity at different wavelengths

I'm guessing it's photodiode based judging from the filters by the side, most probably ND filters. Thermopile based sensors have a much larger dynamic range.

5X JDSU 830nm 200mW laser diodes 54-00213 for 45$ on ebay. Link Model number indicates that it is working in single mode. 9$ per diode is really nice price.

Update info: Datasheet shows that it is actually single longitudinal mode!

This is a real interesting laser, it is a flashlamp pumped yag (1064nm) with frequency tripler (355nm) and parametric oscillator (tunable 400-700nm + 800-2600nm).
It outputs ~10mJ (a few hundred milliwatts at the 30hz rep rate) nanosecond pulses tunable across the entire visable/near-IR.

I used to work for the US Ekspla REP. That model is a joy to work on. IF THERE ever was a hobbyist friendly pulsed laser with OPO, that one is it. If the OPO crystal pair is not burnt inside (mis-used), it will do considerably more then 10 mJ. 7 nanoseconds or so pulses out of the master oscillator, too... The flashlamps are very low cost, as well.
    !

When buying Ekspla products, make sure you get the handheld remote(s), or no joy will ensue.
    !
The US distributer is very good on customer support, and I can see him supporting a hobbyist with a manual, some phone time, and reasonable parts costs...
