If the user name's anything to go by, it's being sold by a fireworks display business. The seller seems keen to show it working, so no need to part with any cash until you're happy with it. If in doubt, take a couple of friends along to make sure you don't get mugged for the money, if you think that's a risk. I'd consider bidding, as it looks like a good deal, but I'm skint at the moment!

I think he is being generous stating 2 watts output. I reckon half of that is more likely.
I have seen 1.4 watts from a 68, but that was with a tube that had been reprocessed by Cambridge (at great expense) and was running at max current.

I agree, I was confused how one would get two watts out of a air cooled tube..

But hey! it lights ciggi's from the beam so it's all good!

Like others have said, it's worth a punt if you live close by, I find it strange that..

    1) They won't provide more photos.
    2) It includes scanners ?? (straight beam in the only pic)
    3) They aren't prepared to courier it.. sure it might get broken but.. "Without any Guarantees" sums it all up!

Anyway - good luck to those who are bidding - let us know how it goes if you win !!! (please get it on a meter)

I think they are rated at 1.2W not 2W and not having a 'new' tube in it I guess it would be considerably less.

I hope it turns out well for the buyer, I also hope he or she is a forum member.

Not me - I really hope it's someone from off of here

I would love to see it up and running and possibly reconditioned (if it needs it) - maybe even at the LEM
