I bought 2 of them, so I will be picking them up later today. Hopefully they are working to spec!

Heh, sorry! That has happened to me a couple times. They will be for sale as tested units soon.

He has 3 on eBay right now, I got a chance to test them all today, one made 42mW, the other two were very low, one around 11mW and one around 14-15mW. All were mismatched power supply/head combos. Maybe they can be adjusted to make full power if you can find the pot assignments for the controller. Luckily mine were matched head/PS setups and both make ~55mW after a couple minutes.

well I picked one up, hopefully I get lucky, if not is there any documentation on the driver?

also does it have any kind of modulation input???

I was wondering the same thing, I looked at the driver board and there are a whole bunch of pots and it isn't really divided up into sections on the board.

I don't know how robust the CNI heads are, he had them packed inside large flat rate boxes which left maybe 1-1.5" on each side of the head for packaging, hopefully it survives the trip there, see if he will agree to insure it.

It has a BNC connector and looks like TTL only.

wonder how difficult it would be to make it analog... sometimes they just dont populate some components (opamps etc)

It is very apparent which leads are for the laser diode (they are even marked as to polarity, so I guess you could slap a flexmod in there to run the diode. It may have thermal stability issues.

ah its tempting but with my luck I would pop the diode somehow

Yeah, not sure it is worth the risk. You could always go with a AOM if you can find the right wavelength.
