The 650nm sounds like it could live up to some of its expectations, given the fact that 800mA would match about the 600mW advertised output if you take the slope efficiency of the "regular" DVD diodes (LPC815/LPC826) into consideration.
They might just be souped up 826's, but the 826 is advertised as the same price everywhere, so even if they turn out to be regular ones, it's not that bad of a deal.
Then again, we could be lucky and squeeze 0,5W out of these diodes... would make a perfect match for the Nichia 445's in most projectors. Chill 'em down a bit, build a dual and you have a Watt of shiny 645nm...

These look to be bog standard AixyZ or DHOM green modules. Seem like a fair deal for the price.
This item will be relisted soon by seller, as I cancelled the deal - shipping cost issue.

Still these are VM500C, fast galvos from GSI, similiar to CT6210, so at that price they are a good purchase.

Hello guys!
Some days ago I purchased these 600mW red diodes http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=280707842209
I asked the seller about the real output power. As expected they are rated at 600mW in pulsed mode. Again I asked him about the real output (CW). Then I got an email and was completely speechless.
Here I what he wrote:
"i just contact my supplier for the informations you need, they said it is their business secret, friend, the professional man can chek it himself .
i really apologize for the inconvenience,if you can provide the informations when you receive the laser diode ,will be much appreciated. again,i apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for contact"
He is honest at least![]()
Business secret...That would fall under technical specificaion and should be listed on the diode's data sheet which I would htink would be sent to all the suppliers/dealers of the product. Honest, soulds like he is blowing smoke, or recieving a smoke enima from his supplier.
The information (actually the is almost no info at all) he gave me is something what I can deal with. As long as they do not publish marginal datasheets....
What do you think the real cw power can be? Something about 300mW?
Alex
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
600mW pulsed tells me it's about 250-300mW CW. Which is on par with the kind of power you can get from an LPC-826 DVD diode, so it wouldn't surprise me too much.
Still, even for an 826, they're fairly priced, if you compare his list price with the price from the group buys.
