The whole thing was recorded and mixed with decent studio headphones. I did lots of it in my bedroom in Medina, Ohio in 86 & 87 and some in my basement in Akron, Ohio from 87 to 90. I never had a sound isolation booth!

Man! That was a LONG time ago!

There is one track from 84 and some work was done in 85.

Apparently there are at least two copies of it at Vinyl Searcher in the UK!

I used Sennheiser HD222 for most of it. They got stolen, unfortunately and they quit making that model.

Now I have some nice Audio Technica phones. Their North American headquarters is in Stow Ohio and I have a few friends who work there.

I had to use isolation phones that completely cover the whole ear.

It's weird. Whenever I had an open mic for vocals or drums or whatever, it would pick up anything in the room. I can still pick out the sound of my dog Ginger and the tags jingling on her collar from 24 years ago.

Audio Technica's are nice, I have a pair of ATH-AD2000s I got a while back... Senns are also really nice, have a pair of HD650's I haven't used in a while, but my favs are my Senn HE60s

My all-time favs were the Audio Technica electret headphones. They had a transformer and you had to drive them with speaker outputs. They weren't very loud and you couldn't use them for recording but OMG were they FLAT! They got stolen when my house was robbed by some crack heads back in the late 80s. Bummer! They didn't even know what they were. I found the transformer in the back yard of my house. They dropped it while running away with my stuff. They also stole a Sony Beta-HiFi VCR, that I used to do the PCM digital mix-down recording to master my CD. Oh well. That probably went right into a dumpter.

not a bad deal if you are looking for a usb spectrometer! http://www.ebay.com/itm/OCEAN-OPTICS...04%26rk%3D1%26 Unfortunantly, you can't easily run the spectrometers without the a/d unit ($750 alone from ocean optics, they turn on on ebay once in a while, ex http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ocean-Optics...item20c10d64fe ) so I suppose it would at least be possible to do some sort of group buy. IIRC the s2000 covers the entire visible spectrum and some of the NIR.

ya my Sennheiser HE-60's are electrostatic and I love them, run them from a modified Stax SRM-1/MK2 amplifier
