Mystery mirror is deep red/IR on the 6810s. You will be needing a new mirror.

This is a very nice wavelength meter, the err 13 indicates that the unit is misaligned but the alignment process is not very hard. Worst case scenario the internal hene has gone kaput, but it is a fairly standard small hene which could be replaced by someone dedicated. You can also add this little gem http://www.ebay.com/itm/wa-650-wavem...item3cd486a7ad for an amazingly sensitive spectrometer, which can easily resolve the fine mode structure of any diode laser (well anyone with a wavelength between the 400um-1100nm of the silicon detector in the wavemeter). Perfect piece of kit for your holography nuts

I would love an explanation of what this was used for and why such a large vessel is needed atop of it.

The detector is for measuring the energy of x-rays (it is intended to be placed on a scanning electron microscope--when an electron hits the sample an x-ray is generated with energy dependent on the material, so if you look at the x-ray spectrum you can can get an image of the chemical makeup of the sample of you are looking at in the microscope). It needs to be cryogenically cooled, and the tank is to store liquid nitrogen to keep it cool. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy-...y_spectroscopy

256 Watt YAG Industrial unit for less than USD 1000? (California)...
Shouldn't this be considered a bargain?

That's Hollywood, Florida. It would be a bargain if it was less than 50 miles away and a third that price (which he'd probably accept).

I think this would qualify as an interesting eBay find. Something for the ladies, out there:

Yeah, it seems it is not California, I was wrong it's clear... But 1/3 the price? For 256 Watts ? Well, I agree one will have to find the way to feed the needed AC mains power to light this babe!
