additionally as was pointed out you can connect a FB3 to a LAN with a $40 box... a lot cheaper than a .NET enclosure (and I own a .NET QM for the record)
The resolution of the colour channels is 8 bit on both. The resolution of scanner channels is 12 bit on fb3, and 16 bit on qm2000.. Nothing to do with how many colours you are going to obtain.. Hitting bounce mirrors accurately. Well that's another story!!!

I would like to see someone run 4 fb3's off the $40 network thing.. They are pretty unreliable with only one connected!

hitting bounce mirrors with any interface is luck at best... I have a QM2k and eyemagic scanners and even then I have trouble hitting bounce mirrors consistently... anyway thats what beam tables are for

Dan seems to say they work ok when wired on the other thread. I'll wait for my Belkin to arrive and then we'll see how it loads up. I'll have an opportunity to try 3 FB3's on 24th.... how many FB3's can LP support? The Belkin will take 15!

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

IIRC, the USB version on LivePro will run upto 6 fb3's

I think you will find the limiting factor for the Belkin to be the 10/100 net connection

I seem to remember you had a big number of FB3's at one point Dave, how many have you ever run on a network connection? Did you ever sniff for bandwidth use?

We had 5 running at one show once, but they were all plugged straight into the back of the computer. Haven't tried them with a network box tho..

I had two running off a Ubox no real issues except for the beam and effect editors in live pro. From what I understand this was a bandwidth related problem with lvepro and has isnt an issue in quick show...
