By its very definition, it doesn''t transmit heat very well as its used to protect areas likely to be damaged by heat. Black is one thing, but heat resistant I would have thought is another. Also, heat resistant paint is a bit of overkill isn't it as its usually designed for temperatures in the thousands whereas I would have though 70 or 80 degrees was nearer the mark in a case.
Heat resistant paint can withstand high temperature, it doesn't block its path.

Thank you Doc that clears everything

I did some testing and tried to fit the beam(green and red mixed) on the scanners. But i have some problems with this. The kvant module doesn,t sends out one beam but actually 4 beams very close together. Several people noticed it when they looked at it at the harlem meet. I don,t understand why it,s not good aligned. Modules like medialas and RGB laser seems to have a nice tight beam.

Can someone give me some advice?

    Default Kvant red

You are right, there are 4 beams... The Kvant has 4 of the Opnext HL6385DG diodes combined to make 600mw. If you look in the front of the module (with the laser turned off obviously) you will see a little brass plate with 4 holes in it, one for each diode. Mine converge after about 1 Mtr into a nice 3.5mm beam with really low divergence... I haven't put mine on a set of scanners yet, waiting for other modules to arrive, but it should fit the mirrors easily, mine is about 4mm at the laser aperture... I think you willl find that all 640/642 lasers work the same way...

Can't see from the website what size mirrors your scanners have? Mine is going to have a set of ScanPro 40's with 5 x 10 x 0.7 mirrors

    Cheers

Everyone thanks for being so interested in my project. Here are some new pictures from my projector and it is coming together now real quick. I added 3 pots to adjust the colors. I used some extruded aluminium because it,s a great way to make a strong case and it gives a nice professional look. The text on the backpanel will be ingraved next week.
The side panels are coming this weekend so finally i,m getting some where Also i added a dmxboard from spacelas so i can use is stand allone because it has 120 figures stored in the chip on board.
Hopefully i will have some more pics within a next week

thanks Dan i try to build as proffesional as i can. My next projector will be anodisized. The next will be the same so easier to build and then i know better what the costs are. If you want to have fun right away buy a rgy an ad a blue or something like that. I also will design a logo for it and i have already a name for it too The scanset will be different i think.

    Hello white-light.

It,s actually my own design but everything is lasercut accept the holes in the back. The aluminium bars are bosch-rexroth profiles and are available in 2 types a square edge and a round edge. The aluminium base plate is a different quallity aluminium e.g AL-6082 but hounestly it is hard to tap the treads in it. The next would be normal aluminium and 8mm of thickness because the size of the baseplate is only 400mm by 300mm. Maybe i will get it anodizised next time but i think it,s quite exspencive. If your interested shoot me a pm.

I'm confused, what's the issue with mounting a laserwave driver on the baseplate?

so far your build is looking great, how long till we get to see that bad boy in action?
