    You naughty boy......

Steve who is finding out it will take at least 3 dumpsters to scrap his collection of parts, at 200$ a dumpster. Just the scrapped laser transformers netted 40$ at the scrap place.

Thank you all who participated! The diodes are en route to the U.S. now. If there are duty charges I'll send out a PM, but if there are they should be only a dollar or two.

For those of us who are going to be building, what optics have you chosen?

The Aixiz glass lens is AR coated for red, gives about 15% power improvement.

    Default Just a suggestion

I would like to see a new thread - sort or "everything you want to know about 642 laser diodes and how to keep them from being totally destroyed and also how to operate two of them with a lava flexmod driver including lasorbs and any other questions that you might have" thread

my luck with diodes basically suck

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
