Anyone want to go to the Pink Floyd Spectacular in Anaheim on December 29th??

...Umm, sorry, pass - IMHO, our show destroys thier show... (all due-respect, of course)..

Ok, so I have been meaning to post about this for a scrillion months, but since I pretty much work non-stop for two laser show companies, I've been a bit 'M-I-A', to say the least ...SO:

My proposal, is that ya'll (yes I said ya'll are invited to the new home of Laserium at the Vine Theater in Hollywood - what better place to hold a LEM than the very birthplace of the best lasershows in history (...no, really - just wait till I post some of these new vid-sample-clips...I've been doing shows for 15+ years now and they nearly brought me to tears...)

We've got plenty of 110 for RGB-rigs, 3 RP scrims, 1 FP screen, plenty of 3Ø / water if anyone wants to lug an ion rig in (sorry, can't use the Purelights there... ) and we can bring in booze and snax and the sound system will blow your socks off (almost - it's not bad.... oh, and BOUNCE MIRRORS! - it's the Ultimate Laserists' Playground - AND, when we're done, I'll see if we can 'treat' ya'll to one or more of our shows (the Laserium classics Dark Side of The Moon Beatles or Zeppelin - we're also running 'lite' versions of U2 and a NIN show - neither of which are as good as they 'could be' cause we're still restoring one of the 'ultimate' Laserium projectors (see its' Daddy HERE... ) for integration at the theater soon... then we'll be able to play the 'REAL' shows in all thier glory...

Cost? Not sure, but something comfy, I am sure - but we will have to get 'enough' players - I mean, we're not gonna open up the entire theater and run 110 and 3Ø and water for 6 people - if we can get, say, 30-50 (laserists w/ guests, etc) @ say, $15-20. a pop, that should cover theater costs and running the shows, etc...

Does that sound outlandish? We could do it here, in Van Nuys, for less, but we can only hold about 15-20 here, and it's not nearly as cool as the Vine + we can't play the classic Laserium shows here right now (middle of restoring the systems, etc) so it would be all about 'guest' shows, etc

...And when I say 'ya'll', I mean 'ya'll' as-in, anyone, anywhere in the PL-hood (we had one PLer come from SWEDEN this summer to see the shows - great to have met you, Thomas! )...

If this does attract some 'outoftowners', I can get you a hookup at a (relatively) nice local Motel I've used before for (relatively) cheap (like $55. / night) - if there starts to be a lot of 'long-distance' peeps, then I can certainly look-into getting a 'group rate' at like a Holiday Inn Xpress or something - no worries though, I've got plenty of connex - we'll get whomever comes in hooked-up proper...

Anyhoo - Thoughts? Interest? Non-interest? Am I whacked?...Ok, well, yeah I knew that but in this context?

Lemme know, and we can start polling dates and set one, and I'll put it together on our end, if it seems of-interest...

OMG. More than interested. I was going to make another post to see if anyone wanted to go to Laserium as well.. I almost went to the NIN show last Saturday night.


How is the new Hollywood and Vine location? I went to the one in Van Nuys and was looking forward to checking this one out!

Well, re: NIN, I would wait - the current 'mash-ups' we had to do to for the current projector in the Vine (sort of a 'lite'-version of the 'best' Laserium projectors...) make for a 'not so amazing' show, IMO... HERE and HERE is how they are supposed to be (6 pairs of galvos vs 2 pairs...) but we won't have that projector (CSL) in the Vine until mid-Dec... still working on restoring, etc...

How is the new Hollywood and Vine location? I went to the one in Van Nuys and was looking forward to checking this one out!

Come see a show, dude! Be my guest (and bring a couple friends!) (but not like 20, ok? ) and we can talk up a LEM, there - I'd recommend either the Floyd show or the Zep show - Beatles is great, too, but those 2 are my faves... either way, come on down.. err, up!
