Default Newbie, Looking for image files

    Hello all!

I am new to this forum.

I just set up my first Closed Loop system.

Can someone help me find some interesting image files?

I made my own software and firmware (150 MIPS / MFLOPS TI DSC controller). I plan to make my own Amps soon.

I found a few "CSV" LASER files and I assumed that was the standard?

Are annimations just sequenced still image? Or do they have there own file format?

    Thanks in advance!

    Blaine

The ILDA STANDARD file format comes in 4 flavors and one discarded flavor.

we do have a FTP site you know, but how about more details on your controller?

    Default My controller

    Steve:

My controller is currently a TI TMS28335 DSC EVM board. It has 256K FLASH and 64K RAM. For now I build to RAM and my windows software uploads the FW.

I use two PWM 12 bit channels for X/Y, and one digital I/O port for shutter. I send raw PWM to the galvo driver board. The PWM carrier is filtered out.

I send image data over RS-232 (dual port buffered [for annimatons]).

If I get serious, I'll replace the RS-232 with USB or Ethernet.

Please give more info on the four file formats.

I tried to log-in to the FTP site, but could not. Do I need to get another password for FTP?

    Thanks
    Blaine

Hi Blaine, yes the ILDA has defined a file format that is widely used.

For formats 4 and 5 of the ilda standard you could use open source code from Laserboy,
http://www.akrobiz.com/laserboy/ the actual code is a grey somewhat hidden (in firefox) link at the top of the page.

    Default Thanks for the help

I used www.laserfx.com documents (by Steve) to write a simple sequencer (attached).

It ignores color information (for now).

Too bad the ILDA spec does not have a Revision field?

    Thanks again.

You might want to repackage that and upload it to the FTP, It attached as a .txt, not a .exe, which is bad, Please put it on the FTP.

    Nope, just the headers.

For the record,Mike Svob was kind enough to write ILDAREAD AND ILDAWRITE for me, which is what is on LFX, he was kind enough to make the source open sorce, but it is old.

Blain, you might want to look at the code for LFI PLAYER, its on sourceforge and Mike wrote and maintains it.
