I'm pretty bored with this childish tit for tat stuff now, I'm sticking with my first post:
As it was stated that the problem was with incorrectly wired sockets; buy a socket tester for 20 Euros.
I wouldn't jump in a bath without checking the temperature unless I was 99.99% certain I wouldn't scald my arse.
I got *my* 5Amps from the attached specifier sheet, I know there are other manufacturers and you could connect several in parallel etc, but though it could be made to work; MOVs are designed for snubbing high voltage induced short pulses and besides; it just seems like we are using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. If the supply is in doubt; check the supply?
On a seperate note; even though you don't know *anything* about me, my education or background; I am able to struggle my way through the simple multiplication that is the RMS to peak calculation. I don't talk down to you so you shouldn't feel the absolute necessity to talk down to me.
Regards, Ian
