Default My 'Little' 532 projector project is now finished

I have just finished building and testing my new little 532nm 20K projector.

I had a spare 240mW 532 module and a spare cheapo 20K Laserworld scanset sat here doing now't so I grabbed an old electrical junction box from work and a bit of 10mm Ally base plate and decided to sling them all together and make a dinky projector.

It measures 180x180x130mm in total and works a treat

That is one of Norms Framestreamer Express DAC's sat in the lid too

The exit aperture is having a Hoya AR Skylight filter fitted over it soon to totally seal the case from outside elements.

Very nice little job there Jim. Is that your very hot 50mw laser thats doing 200mw+? Rob was telling me about it the last time I spoke to him.

I got the 532 module from someone off of the forum and it was sold as a 100mW. It outputs 245mW!

It has a really nice beam profile too - no lines, shadows or now't

That is a small projector indeed. Very nice!

I want to build something similar, but with a 1W laser. Problem is that the driver is nearly 25 cm long, so it'll have to be a tad bigger.

I love that case! What kind is it? Some kind of outdoor electrical enclosure?

Lol, is that my old laser? Looks like it from the photos. Ironically, thats the less bright one of my 2 '100mW' which was why i guessed it was under 100mW. Have you tried measuring with an IR filter in place as I don't know if there's one fitted to that one.

I've got a 300mW Laserwave on the way from Rob thats doing a bit over 400mW so it'll be interesting to see how they compare.

Edit: Soforene might be interested to hear it's doing so much as he also has one of the projectors (GVG) that the head came out of. Wonder if he's had his measured? Incidentally, is there anyone in the East Sussex / south east coast area with a power meter that I could use, as I could really do with getting mine measured, especially after seeing this!

That's a nice and neat little package! You may want to consider adding a fan even if it just moves air around the case internally.
