With the 7 different sized fans in "the beast" , it actually sounds like it's about to launch, when I hit the "start" button

my new thorlabs power meter will be here in 2 days, i'm anxious to see what the actual power out is

    Lightbulb

I have to admit, mine has 4x 50mm fans that sound like a lil turbine going; picture 4 laserwave blues with fans going at the same time...

    Thumbs up

I always liked the big red trigger, actually. You know, the one inside the locked safe in the Missle Control Center...

Hey - why launch a measly torpedo when you can launch a thermonuclear weapon instead, right?

Allright guys, for anybody who is curious,
I finished measuring the power output of my newly acquired Kvant Spectrum 5 watt RGB projector,
I took all measurements After The Output window, and here are the results:
1.9 Red 640nm -- closest to scanners and bouncing off 2 dichros.
1.8 Blue 445nm -- furthest from scanners and bouncing off 1 dichro, passing 2 more.
3.0 Green 532 OPLS -- second closest to scanners, bouncing off 1 dichro, passing 1 more.

Total output RGB = 6.7 watts
there is a 700 mw loss after all the dichros, which means the power out of all the lasers combined should be 7.4 watts,
Not Bad for a 5 watt spectrum..

    no pics yet,
my next project is going to be installing the safety devices and attempting to get this thing certified...

Still have no pics, will try and get some up this week....

LaserWorld may be interested to read this, not that it would make any sense to them..

What you are saying here is that you have powered this beast on, yet we do not have any beam photos?

Are you sure it isn't a 7W model?? At least that's what's noted on the side of the laser.

I'm not sure even the most generous manufacturer will give you 2W more than specified
