Well, I either need a Krypton, or else I need a shitload of solid state red, right? Guess which avenue I'm pursuing?

If all goes well, by next year I could have 3 RGB projectors... Now I just need to rob a bank to pay for it all.

Just a quickie to say that the lex arrived here safe n sound today - Have had a breif play with it but only just getting to grips with the volts and operation of the beast so dont worry pix will follow.
I will however say that I have had a mega transaction with Lexat - even got a nice bar of choccy thrown in . Nigel is an upstanding fellow and I would not hesitate in recommending him for a trade/sale/purchase. Easy to deal with, plus good friendly easy comms.
Cheers Nige shes gone to a good home

    indeed
Got it running breifly last night though got some strange goings on with my mains - measuring 262VAC currently so either my meter is nuts or the mains is nuts....
    Pix will follow I promise

Ok here we go....after a quick tweak of the OC adjustment I got the output to 1100mW, then cleaned the OC and HR plus brewsters (using the fantastic First contact polymer cleaner that I sell - gratuitous plug over) and its now doing a shade over 1300mW at 26A
    tube volts 165V
    Sweet
here are some pix inc inside the exciter - as Lexat describes - a work of art....and it smells good too.
Note the odd beam profile - any comments on this - steve roberts?? I am also surprised the beam is bigger than I expected and is more divergent than I thought it would be.

Very nice Rob! Those lexel 88s are multi mode IIRC, so that would explain the strange beam profile maybe ?

You should try and check the current using the test points on the front , 26A is far too much for that tube and PSU to handle, it should be given 20A tops, the current meter on the front is probably incorrect. I also presume that you've set up the transformer taps before running it ?

It's a very nice system, I was going to buy it a while ago but I couldn't get the funds. WIll you be taking it to UKLM5.5 ?
