Default Anyone got any 808nm cans?

Hey guys, I have 2 little green modules here, both with dead IR diodes. They are standard 5.6mm cans, and I would assume 808nm. Not exactly sure on power however, so what would you guys recommend?

I am looking for some 808nm 5.6mm cans, of required power, if possible.

    Cheers,
    Dan

Hey Things, I have a 50mW 532nm module that uses a 300mW 808nm pump diode, if that helps you estimate the power you need. However like you, I also damaged the pump diode . If anybody has spare 300mW 808nm pump diode in the common 5.6mm TO-18 can, I'm interested to buy one too! Best regards, weartronics

Wow, 300mW for 80mW of green, thats pretty efficient.

I forgot to mention, the modules are 5 and 10mW green output.

I always thought it took like 250mw for 5mw green, you must have an efficient one

Green is generally around 15-30% efficiency from pump to output ( depends on quality of the crystals optics and alignment etc ) but some are higher and some are lower. With blue DPSS ( 473nm ) you'd get about 5mW from 250mW of pump power.

If you search up snoctony on eBay you can get some 808nm diodes in 5.6mm cans for a reasonable price, powers are 200-500mW IIRC. You could get a 500mW unit and run it at a lower power to get a longer life.

Try SNOC electronics. They seem to have what you want. I have been thinking about ordering a 200mW pump diode from them for a nice dead 5mW I have. They have a web site and an Ebay store.

hmm be aware that I once saw a virus (js downloader) on their website

short after that I have started being spammed by some "chinese wholesale organisations"

I cannot say it is linked but have a doubt

anyway, these 5.6mm diodes are rock solid

the only thing to know about them is if you overpower them too much they tend to drop in power to approx 150~200mW

did your green modules really measure 50mW with output filter? I have only managed to get 10mW-ish from a green pointer with the snoc diode... you seem to have some luck
