Trespa is fantastic material. Our company uses it to clad buildings, now available as a copper/resin/copper sandwich.
I would consider mounting your scanner block on some solid ally.

@soforene: good to hear more Dutch have attended. I hope to have an answer from my program manager this week or utmost next week if my project will go on, or will be post-poned.
The 5th of December i am organising a LAN party, so that will be probably not possible, too bad as it was 2,5 days if i saw correctly.
I just checked how to pass. Hoek van Holland - Harwich takes 6hrs30min and then it's a 147 mile drive. However costs 308 euros roundtrip !
When i go to calais (it's 360km from my house) but is only 150-160 euro roundtrip, but then it's 189miles to Leicester. But the crossover only takes 30mins ! I could probably stay over at my nephews in Gent (Belgium) from there it's only 150km toCalais. Leaving on Saturday and returning on monday would then be the idea. The latter would be a little more to drive, but lots cheaper and much faster. The difference in England over the road is just 42 miles.
@Doc: mounting the scanner on a solid block of ally is what i've learned on PL.
As you check out the second picture from below from my new built you see i did just that, it's now mounted on a 10mm block of ally. And that block is mounted again on a 10mm block which holds the laser head. Much more solid indeed.
Sorry Bob (and you).
You're all Johnny Foreigners to us Brits.
At least I got the right continent !
If there are any dark corners I'm sure there are watts of light present to lighten them!
Why wasn't there a Lem last week - I was on holiday in Wales...
