I found a pdf it looks like it is 1.09 mm, can I set a .7mm mirror into this slot or must they be 1mm?

Surely depends on the size and the speed you scan.
I recall to have read somewhere here at the forums (by jian?) that thin scanner mirrors tend to flex at high speeds, adding to the risk of instability.

The mirror is an important of the scanning system. Not just optically but also factoring in rotor inertia. And yes they can resonate.

Just call Cambridge and order a replacement mirror. The reason Cambridge scanners are better than the Chinese stuff is because 'good enough', is not how Cambridge designs galvos. Don't rig it just get what they need.
