Default Wiring my ILDA port for FB3 XE

Hi all, i'm looking into wiring up my ILDA port correctly for single colour (green). I have an FB3 XE, DT 25 scanners and a Laser-wave green laser (switches setup for analog modulation) using the 'yellow +' and 'white -' modulation wires.

When wiring my laser to the ILDA port, do i wire the 'yellow +' modulation wire to the +i pin or the +G pin? Also i'm assuming the 'white -' modulation wire goes to ground, pin 25?

ILDA standard is to connect single color lasers to the red channel.

So positive will go to R+ and negative will go to R-

    Hi XysteR

For the FB3, Dave is right saying that the Yellow wire should go to pin 5 (R+) but the white ground wire needs to go to pin 25 Ground as the FB3 only has single ended blanking signals. Then just go into Enviroment of your software eg. Live Quick or Live Pro and set for a signal colour projector.

I really don't mean to offend but i'm still stuck, i've been told so many different things for what seems like one simple connection. I admit i'm not clued up with lasers at all, thats why i'm asking here. I've been told G+ and G- and select 'single colour/laser system in the software properties.

Both connecting to R- or ground will work with the FB3XE as the negative color signals are grounded inside the FB3XE, but I think it makes more sense to wire to R=/R- just in case you need to use the projector with a controller that uses balanced color signals..

I thought that the XE now incorporated the differential card that was previously only an option on the bare bones board. I thought that gave differential on blanking and scanning? Am I confusing this with the analogue/TTL on blanking/colour channels?

Adds differential only to X&Y channels.

As Carl said, if you don't connect Mod - to pin 25 you *will* start to see some weird things happening.
