aGAINST MY bETTER jUDGEMENT, THE OLDEST ALC 60x PSU SCHEMATIC IS ON THE ftp IN DOCUMENTS.

You really need a good suite of test instruments including a curve tracer to repair one, but oh well. From unit to unit, the control cards are what really changed, that is a older generation control card, one of the first. So its a sound start if you choose to work on a gold box's switching side, but not a much help on the other side of the 44 pin card slot connector.

It does not match the modern Xerox gold box, but there is enough commonality to be a start. Youd be surprised how much it has in common with the model 5 and model 8 medical supplies.

No, I will not release my copy of the modern Gold Box Schematic, I gave my word.

You may thank a desperate PLer for convincing me to do it, and if his FTP script would have worked, it would not be on the public server. I really had to fight to get schematics, its not easy nor inexpensive to do social engineering and meet and greets.

You do not find a exact schematic. You fill find one that is very close. That is a generation zero gold box. The majority of the switching circuitry that is not on the control card matches what I have posted in this thread.

I had to move, the manual for that is on a cd at my old house. I'll be back there to see my family on 7 Nov. PM me with a reminder to find it for you at that date. I'm old, my memory slips.


The control card however, unless someone swapped in a new one, is made of discrete op amps instead of a pulse width modulator chip. So you have two or three opamps in the decision tree that sets the upper and lower limits, one that generates the triangle wave for making the pwm, a ua739 (I think) comparator for comparing the triangle wave to the feedback, a 555 timer or opamp timer for doing the start delay, and something forming the voltage regulators. The edge card connector is about 90% common with the newer ones, so you can work from there.

What kind of test gear do you have access to? Do you have a working laser head?

I'll try to find you the patent that describes the operation of that supply, may take a day or two.

Can you shoot a shot from a different angle of the insides, I'm looking for something, somewhat critical, that I don't see at the moment.

again, most of what you need is on the ftp server. The PL ftp caretakers will step in here and walk you through getting at the file.

i bought it together with a alc 60b head from germany
so my big question: is it 230 or 110v
and what´s that in the picture? the thing says 250V 16A
if it´s 110v can i modify it for 230v?

That looks like a line filter module.

110 to 220, not easily, but with some work.\

60Bs are almost always 220. Does the head serial number match the supply serial number?
