If it was in the condition I got it in, you wouldn't have gotten far. The fuse holder was missing, and if you bypassed that, the power supply would fail as it tried to supply 6 expensive analog chips that had been removed and replaced with digital logic chips as 'place fillers'. Don't worry you'll see it this time

The Laser Media one is coming too, with a ILDA connector. The Other box that I did some horse trading for last selem. rumor has it , it toured with floyd, or at least its design did.

It's cool we'll have some 'old fashioned' knob jamming this time as well. I'm looking forward to that probably more than anything.

*THAT* was the box that was given to Steve? I had no idea! Hell, why didn't we power it up first and see if it worked? We could have played with it...
Well, it doesn't really do a whole lot. Now if it was a full blown complex abstract gen, you couldn't offer me enough cash for it. This box, I suspect, is just for some basic image manipulation (rotation, x/y position, etc.).

That's interesting, what IC's were missing? And what IC's did you find in thier place?

Speaking of boxes like this, one of the new shows I have was created completely on an abstract generator console, recorded to adat, then dumped to pangolin. The timing isn't perfect, but some of the abstracts are awesome.

On the board pictured above, 6 AD534's were missing and in their place were the 7416 TTL ICs (one removed in the photo)
Amazingly, these ICs were still available from digikey.

By the way, help me trace its history.. where did YOU get it?

Wow, nothing even closely in common between those chips. Looking at the photo, it looks like they are hard soldered to the board and not in sockets. I don't understand how 7416's could have been put there, someone would have had to desolder all the AD534's and put those on. That doesn't make sense!

With all of these sin/cos generators, it could be turned into a nice abstract generator!

Yes, thus my theory that they were 'harvested'

    I'll know more tonight.

A buffered and overload protected balenced 1:4 ilda breakout box will be coming to selem if I have to die in a all night work session to do it.
You guys all use +5 for your shutters correct?

Hmm, well it wasn't by me, I opened it up when I got it for some pics and played with it a bit, then it sat on the shelf till last years SELEM.

I'm curious, what IC is on the sin/cos card, BB4423's?
