Well i got my optical plate all drilled & tapped, installed everything and i decided to do a test run in the garden this eveing (i just got in) I went out and bought a Antari Z1000 II Fog machine during the day so i was all geared up and ready to go.

Pulled my KRK Studio monitors and sub outside, selected some suitable ambient chOOnz and practically had to force myself not to fire it all up until it got totally dark.

When it finally got nice & dark i switched the fogger on, got the pangolin FB3 setup with a beam show. Got the chOOnz ready to roll. We have a very large tree at the bottom of the garden, about 20 meters away from the laser gear. I setup the lasers window to fit the tree.

I filled the garden with 3 or 4 blasts of fog, it was an extremely calm, warm evening, started the first track: Aphex twin - Xtal (one of my favs). Hit play on a beam show........

Man i nearly cried in awe! Smooth twisting liquid skies, waves, tunnels.... My track choice was great for my first laser experience. Truly incredible to say the least!

    Rob, lets talk red m8

I'm playing with QuickShow LX at the min, it looks very nice indeedy, It seems to have a lot more content and default things to play with and use over QuickShow. I'll be very happy when I can use this with my FB3. I'm trying to get clued up on it ready for release.

I gained a lot of info of how scanners work and how to build them from your website, great information, thanks for that.
    many thanks .

Not something that can talk about in public but lets just say there's a lot more to it than what there appears to be at 1st glance. Shaping up to be an excellent program.

And some, i'm not finished yet A nice red coming next, i'm thinking its wise to install the red now as i've still got the plate accurately marked out for RGY rather than pull it all out later. I'll wait for the red to get here just to check before drilling & tapping again. After drilling & tapping for the red i'm removing everything from the plate so i can clean the plate up. I'm not gonna paint the plate as thermally this would be like putting a cheese slice between 2 slices of buttered bread. It'll ruin heat transfer.

Very much so, i'm uncovering more and more of it the more i play with it. I'm giving it a hard time with testing though. I like to explore the nooks and cranny's of software to find bugs, i've not found anything wrong yet, but i've not had much use of it yet. Infact i'll only be able to continue testing next weekend as it'll only work on this laptop which i don't take home with me

And now you know why we're all here. It's an obsession, but the payoff (as you experienced in your background) is damn well worth it, wouldn't you say?

When you get a chance, ask someone with an RGB projector and a Pangolin LD-2000 system to show you the "Gradient-Moby" beam show that comes with the LD-2000. It's best viewed on a scrim with the projector shooting towards the audience, and the scrim between you and the projector. Need lots of fog too...

This is the *one* (and thus far, only) show that I've actually seen bring a grown man to tears. It's that beautiful.

Awesome! Yes its worth it and some... I was gonna wait a short while before including red but i loved green so much that i've ordered a Red off Rob at Laser-wave RGY soon. I have a feeling it'll not be too long before i include a blue or wangle something with bluray, i'm funny like that.

I'm looking to try to get to the meet, maybe someone there might have the gear to show me Gradient-Moby.

This scrim by the way.. Is it special stuff for lasers?

Scrim is a fine netting that is hung as a transparent/translucent projection screen.

Maybe you'll get to see it displayed on multiple synced RGB's that absolutely flood the place with beams ........

I bought some scrim from "YouEssovA" and did a review here.
