Default Buying a New laser . Suggestions

I own a RGY Ares II w 15k scanners and no ILDA

I was about to purchase this RGB laser with 30 K Scanners

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

and I.Show after reading the forum, seems like I.show is a waste of money.. I only have a budget of around $1100 US (laser and interface)
I saw moncha Lite version for $350 ish. which would be doable as far as price but it only goes up to 12k for the scanner speed and its $650 for the full version that allows 30k scan speeds

Even though Ishow is bad, could i still import any .ild file i get from the internet ?
Could I use hotkeys, could i add / change animations with out recalibrating ?

Can someone recommend if i should get I.show or if there is something better in a budget price range

I plan on using this unit mostly at small clubs

    thank you for the help

Depending on your electrical skills, I might try to add new scanners, a blue or blu-ray module and an ILDA port to your RGY; then look at what software and controller you can afford. I would not buy any of the premade projectors off eBay unless it is a unit that not originally sold on eBay... if that makes sense. Might even leave your current scanners in until you add the ILDA port and blu-ray (for costs). I have seen some of the beam shows with the QM2000 package look decent at 15k, not great but decent.

well Ebay is one of my only choices b/c i live in the US and it is hard to get a high powered laser here.
I applied for a variance almost a year ago and have still not herd back from them, other than they received my information

My stage hand is actually buying the laser. He doesnt have a pay pal account so he gave me the cash and I will purchase it on his behalf, he will be using it at my shows. It is mostly for pubs and clubs. We do not need anything to crazy. right now we are just using Sound to light on our 2 lasers we run now.

Also that laser on ebay uses a Violet 402nm instead of a Blue 472nm diode. How do these comparable ? I have never seen a violet version in real life.

I am open to any other suggestions you may have.

I thought that was a good price for a 30k scanner projector

as it stands now, I told him to hold off on the Ishow and just get the laser and save for better software.

So if you are here in the U.S. then I wouldn't buy off ebay. They are not legal to use here in the U.S and so it is a waste of your money. If you are caught using unvarianced equipment to do shows they can fine you and take the unvarianced equipment. Just save up the money until you can afford a good program like Pangolin and a Varianced projector. I have several I could sell you or I could custom build you one if you are interesed.

405nm blue violet is basically Ultra violet black light light (if that makes sense). The same stuff you use to make tshirts glow in clubs.

The general consensus from those who've tried it is that its visible in projected graphics and can be used to mix with other colours to provide different shades to beams, but it isn't really visible on its own. So it won't give you visible blue beams. If you want visible blue for beams you really need a proper blue shade - 445 or 473.
