Unhappy Lexel 88 oem psu doesnt want to start.

    hi folks,

im kinda new here (registerd a while ago) so here is a short about me:

im hendrik and i live in the netherlands, im 20 years old and i like lasers.

    ok here is my problem:

i got myself a lexel88A tube with the switching PSU and all the other suplys i have to have.
i have everything hooked up as i supose i should have done it. the heating works nice.
the problem is that the big ass power suply doesnt want to start :/
i have 15 and -15 connected to it, and i have 3 switches for it HV enable, HV on/off, Reset and i have a 10 kohm 10 turn potentiometer connected to it.

if i turn it on there are no lights on and i dont get a error from all the output pins.
then if i turn on enable HV (the capacitors should charge) i wait for a long time but i dont get 15 volts on pin 22 (wich indicates that the caps are charged).

then if i switch on the HV on off button i dont get a green light from the input sections leds.

i already tried swapping the L and N connections, nothing changed
i tryed hooking up the ground to the case and nothing helped, i checked every connection and it didnt help.

Im kinda lost i guess, does somebody have a suggestion?

    kind regards hendrik

What voltage is your input, are you sure the buck boost transformer is hooked up to the correct feed for that voltage? I know we always had to get out the manual and double check the wiring (there is a gotya in there that can let out magic smoke)...

Lasernerd knows a lot about lexel 88 PSU's, but I don't think he has the manual anymore.

hi, i just meashured my outlet on 238 volts
it should officialy be a 230 outlet

i guess the buckboost is on the correct value since the laser was running in the same region as where i live.
where is the buck boost positioned so i can take a look at it?

    kind regards hendrik

btw its this kind of supply (top right big ass thing) :

That is the Zeiss Ophthalmic switcher, there no buck/boost, however the cathode transformer needs to be correctly tapped. . Lexel made the heads, zeiss made the PSUs themselves.

What did you use as a remote control to start/run it????? They were not ment to run stand-alone without some form of external controls.

Start with the Fets, Caps and Fet drivers , and fast diodes.

I've worked on every other lexel power supply but one of those, so I cant help you any more unless you have specific tube questions.

lol now it is not firing up again

i tryed finding the S line on the psu and my scewdriver light wont light up xD (i guess its taking to much power from the outlet or something like that).
I think i will try a better connection from the outlet to the laser psu
