Not sure if I can make it, but I'll try. St Louis would be a long haul for me, as I'd have to drive so I could bring my gear. Keep me in the loop though, and if it works with my schedule I'll try to be there.

If you want to chat about the logistics of setting up a 'LEM, give me a call at (843) 324-0735 and I'll give you an earful! (Stuka's advice is right on the money though, and it's a very good starting point. Finding a venue is your #1 priority. After that, it's easy.)

That would be cool, but after a two-day event the bar tab would be like $80,000

The problem with club owners is that they'd probably want the lasers on while the general public is there. That won't be possible, since most of us do not have a variance for our gear.

I suggest you look at meeting halls for clubs and such. Try schools, and also look into city buildings that may be available for use by the public. Old movie theaters are another good idea. Even empty buildings in a strip mall would work. (Or an empty warehouse.) Conference rooms at hotels will work, but they tend to be small and expensive.

    OK - I'm in...

But ONLY because I've "heard" that "those" type of establishments tend to be a bit "smoky" on the inside, so we wouldn't need as many smoke machines as some other venues. Plus, I've "heard" that most of them have big scary bouncers at the door, which should cover security concerns.

And, I've "heard" that refreshments are usually readily available.

Which would be the only reasons I would even consider visiting such an establishment.

Dont think like a laserist or entertainer. Think like a rave promoter. That is how you'd find a building

How about one of the unused warehouse over off of Page Ave. Plenty of space, plenty of power and rent would be cheap.

And I know a medical laser professional in St Louis who would help...

For Beer and Lasers, he'll do nearly anything. And he has Generators and Phase Converters and transport gear.

Consider a hanger at a small airport. rent for a day is cheap, my pal would know where some hangers are

I should have rented the space under my name for advertising.
