    Default I need advice please.

I need advice from anybody more intelligent than I, which I am expecting shall be most ( if not all ) people posting in this forum.

I keep seeing pretty pictures / videos of RGB laser systems. I would like one.

I have a blue laser here purchased from "Laser-uk", their "Club Show Blue" model. I was told the laser was 100mw.

The panel on the back has jacks for both DMX and ILDA, though only 4 of the ILDA pins are used.

I opened the housing to see if there were any more clues on the laser housing buy no information had bee filled it. On the bottom of the laser was a hand written note which read ..

    "MODEL: LA - F50 - .7.81.21"

Could this me a good starting point for an RGB projector ?

    Cheers
    Matt

    Wink

I'd say anything with a blue laser is a good place to start, but...

    Thumbs up

That looks like a raggity ass POS, but it looks far better than my fist POS so you are not doing too bad. I see a lot of wasted space in that thing that you could clean up and maybe squeeze a small red and greeny in.

So paying £700 was not the best deal of the century then. My only excuse is that I had not found PL at the time.
Do I try to sell it on and start again,
trade it in against something else direct from this manufacture,
or try and tidy stuff up and fit it in this case.

Not sure about something else from same manufacturer having seen how much hot melt is in this build.

What kind of money does a 100mW blue cost in the UK ?

    Lightbulb

I don't that that was too bad a deal. A 100mW TTL Blue set me back $600 or so when I first got one, but that was an eBay special that didn't do 100mW... For what you got and could play with to get a "taste" of the obsession, I say it was probably worth it. I think you could easily re-do that box to make a small RGB that you can get more experience out of. I can't begin to say what you might sell that one for. The scanners look like 10K, and you need to know if that is anaolg, probably not, and if it is doing 100mW.

Rep told me the scanners were 20k but I cant find a link on their site anymore. Is there a way of telling by looking at codes etc ?
I do not know it if is analogue, or 100mW, Im hoping that some of you clever chaps and chappesses can point me in the right direction.
If it were a 100mW blue TTL and I wanted the end result of a analogue full rgb is there a logical path to take. ( sell this and buy one being sold by a PL forum member perhaps ? _
Thanks for any advice you can offer me,

    Cheers

    Hi Matt

Whereabouts in the UK are you?

The chances are that there will be someone close to you who would be prepared to show you their projector(s). Unfortunately you've just missed the UK Laser Enthusiasts Meeting (UKLEM) , but there's another one in December

Fill in your (approximate) location details in your profile and we'll let you know if there's anyone nearby.

Oh, and prepare for spending some money

    Cheers
