My Mom failed to take her meds, because of side effects (easy bruising, bleeding, lightheadedness) that she hates. CAT/MRI revealed many localized damage areas, and many scars from her past strokes/transient ischemic attacks. She had lost speech and muscle control when I found her.
As many of you know, I had to leave Akron to find a position, and I ended up in Ft Wayne, In. I come over every two weeks or so to check on Mom, the House, and my Dog. I found her in time, and had our excellent local paramedics here in a few minutes. We arrived at the ER within the "Golden Window", and the quick reaction medicines worked.
I've spent two extra days over here keeping a eye on her, and she was released from the hospital yesterday, as she now has so much scar tissue that the neurological types can not tell what is old and what is recent, so they released her after adjusting her medication.
Other then she is weakened, and very, very, angry, she seems to have suffered little permanent damage except for a slight "ticking" problem with a facial muscle.
I took her out today to see a movie at her request, and I'll go back to Ft Wayne in the early morning.
I will now call twice a day to make sure she takes the medicine.
I thank you all for your support, and prayer, which I am very sure made a significant difference in her rapid recovery..
Thanks,
Steve
