Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
I already machined the mount. I bought a PBS from CTlasers to combine the two beams. This is what I have so far. I still need to machine the bounce mirror and the PBS holder.

Now that is a very sexy mount! IMHO 1/2 wave plate is lossey two ways optically & financially, which is not necessary, yes you can do it, but 1/2 wave plates are expensive.
The only solution is to press the diode into a round mount that can be rotated if you plan on combining beams in a PBS. Hand rotating is easy to dial in pretty well if you have a good precise meter. You need the ability to rotate the assembly in the "likely" event that your diode will not be pressed in perfectly.![]()
