    Laser Warning HeCd Laser

    My frist HeCd laser!!
Well long story short, I just got a HeCd laser for basicly nothing
    Heres the specs.
    Omnichrome Series 74
    3074R-SL-A03
    Date Manufactured June 2004
    Serial number: K1268

I gave it a good cleaning, and tested the tube and it seems to be fine, but the color is orangish-blue in color, so I dont know if this is good or not.
But here are some pics. of it.

Oh anyone have a PSU for this head?

Oh my , looks like the tube is broken somewhere - it's not firing down the bore. NOT good! I just sold one of these lasers ( Manufactured in 1993 with 92 hours on it when I got it ). The discharge should CERTAINLY go down the bore and be BRIGHT orange, not around the side of the bore!

EDIT: Ooooooooh just realised - it's not going down the bore because you haven't got a PSU!

PSU for it is model 100B from omnichrome.

yeah I figured that after I actually read the post !

It should be really quite orange from the helium, once you get a PSU for it the cadmium in it will make it whiteish orange.

EDIT: Good luck finding a PSU Shipping may be expensive, they weigh a ton
