    What make/model is this laser?
LOL - I know the feeling - I must sell this laser before buying more laser junk, i must sell this laser before buying more laser junk, i must...

As Dave wrote, the laser head is an ALC909 regassed to white and with the optics changed to a set of very good whitelight optics..
The PSU is a Lexel88 OEM - a nice and compact combo..

And to those who say that a ½W rgb dpss is a better deal, you certainly havent seen the beam quality of this laser.. i know its a bit bigger to haul around, but you can REALLY see the difference compared to a cheap RGB.
And pcaoms do show up on ebay for cheap every once in a while (esp. ebay.de for some reason), i just missed an AA with digital driver that went for a little over €600 some weeks ago.. so not so impossible.. and untill you find the money for a pcaom thers is allways the option of actuators and dicros to get started.
    (i'll throw in 3 STP8s if interested.)

    Regards, Simon

I said this is a hell of a deal, 3x the power for roughly the same price.

unfortunately, this is being typed on a friend's laptop, mine wouldn't boot this morning, and I'm tired of fixing it every time it breaks (it's a frankensteined Haier I bought in china two+ years ago, with soldered-on usb ports and headphone jacks hanging out of it - REAL fun taking it through airports, lemme tell you), so I'm going to fix it one last time and hope it lasts until the x-mas specials start up.

but, Damn. that is a sexy, sexy laser.

I am now the proud owner of this laser

I have a question please, the AA AOM that Kvant has for sale that was mentioned earlier in this thread, will this AOM be polarisation sensitive? I ask this because I am under the impression that this 909 head is randomly polarised~?

    I can't see any brewsters?

    Thanks
    Jim

    Jim

Cant speak about the laser but yes an AOM (PCAOM) will need polarised light to function.
<edit> to function effeciently - It will work with non polarised light but the losses will make ya mum cry

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

you will get some big trouble with the pcaom they are selling for the only good reason that the driver type of the pcaom is the totally old one (not PPL)

adjustment on these drivers are particularly long to do, and its stability isnt the best.

For what price could you get the pcaom?

I am selling an 8 channel pcaom from AA Optics, thermal stabilisation,
cristal incl. tuned driver (8 channel is what you need for an ArKr, or if you take 6 channel, you will loose on power)

if interested into the pcaom, just send me an email at dj_richu at hotmail.com
