    those are the specs!

outputting more though. actually, believe it or not, the blue on this is *almost* too much!

gene, until you get the DAC, just turn the switch on and pretend there is light coming out. you can even make the laser sounds...

    "Pew, Pew, Pew...." LOL...

    sorry man.

    HAHA! That's too funny!

Glad to see you can still laugh Marc. Nice work on the projector. I'm sure Phredy1 will enjoy it a lot!

What's the weight of this monster?
I would try to avoid that last mirror since all lasers already are adjustable in height.
And... should'nt the optical section be hermetically sealed to avoid staining from fog?

    What about an output window?
Even a bird can go inside and do the fine tuning on the optics alignment

I send the windows when i deliver projectors. Alot of people dont like using output windows on projectors. myself included.

i would rather give my customers the choice to use the window or not.

and as far as the last mirror to the scanners-

i try to build and design my projectors for ease of use at show time. traveling around with a laser projector does tend to mis-align optics and lasers as we all know. when its show time and you need to do a quick "tweak" its 100X easier to adjust a few thumbscrews than to get a wrench out and start moving stages and loosening nuts and such.

the 1% loss or so off of 1 more mirror is largely outweighed by the ease of use and ease of "tweaking" at show time.

my personal opinion when it comes to laser projectors is practicality and user-friendly design for "in the field" use. this is reflected in all of my projector builds and have yet to have a complaint ( knocking on wood... )

    Very nice build.

    But

550mW laserpower and 658mW after optics.

You need to get me those optics!

Those are the minimum specs of the lasers, most of Marc's lasers are delivered over spec so no magic optics...
