Shit i'd spend $500 just to rip the guts out and make some cool lasers

Oh and if anyone is wondering, it uses a DPSS green and blue and red diode lasers. Trying to figure out the wavelength, but I'm guessing 445.

    EDIT: 635nm, 445nm, and 532nm

Oh and it looks like the green is actually a directly doubled diode laser using PPLN for the SHG crystal

mmm... imagine a set of MEMS scanners... at that point the only thing holding you back from getting stupidly high PPS would be the lasers lol

I was really excited about these early this year and got a hold of microvision, they also make a 1-d barcode scanner which with two you could do X/Y. But before you get all excited the mirror is only 2.2mm so you need good beam specs and to keep the power down because of the damage threshold.

On a side-note I was in a couple of their product surveys (no I didn't get a product) and suggested one of the more reasonable prices suggested. I haven't heard anything since last spring so who knows....

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
