Absolutely not, do not use a polarising filter!

Also; a skylight filter has a pink hue to reduce blueness, I would personally go for a UV filter.

thanks for point this out dan saves me wasting money and losing power
i would rather spend time cleaning optics after each meet

Buying a piece of AR glass (from medialas for example) is just as expensive / cheap so why bother with those photography filters?

    Just my thought.

You can get a piece of AR glass cheaper than a UV filter

What's the best way to mount a piece of AR glass or photography filter on a projector? Are there standard size brackets that you can screw in? Or maybe just glue it to the enclosure?

dont do this.... i tried this and if you ever do a gig using an oil based fogger/ hazer,
it will completely kill the output of your laser,,,,
i just purchased a glass ar coated window, from thorlabs, 29.00$ , mounted it with clear silicone, DONE.

I found my invoice from medialas the other day.
I payed 13€ for a piece of 60x60 AR glass. I don't think you can get a decent UV filter for that ...
