The one true hazer we had was the one ljk had. Not sure what brand it was... And yeah, it would run you out of the room in about 30 seconds when set to run wide open. We normally ran it between 8 and 11 %, and that was more than enough.
However, Daedal has a "fazer" (basically a fog machine + a fan in the same box) that will also run you out of the room... Not sure which unit was operating when you were there at FLEM last spring, but both of them were set up.
Surprisingly, even though a fazer isn't a real hazer, it does produce a finer "fog" than a standard fog machine. And given that they run about 1/5 the cost of a hazer, I can see why people buy them. Still, for economical fluid use, nothing beats a true hazer.

Yup it was LJK, I remember he said it was running really low !! Really nice Hazer guys !! Very efficient too. I would get that one if I had the money !!

so i finally got to buy some small 700w hazer and i must say i'm impressed
well - "small"... compared to fog machine it's at least twice the size and heavy but the effect is brilliant and the fluid consumption is somewhere between very low and nothing
Can anyone comment on the Chauvet Arena Hazer? Water based, seems to run between $600-700. I've seen a review on Youtube and I'm considering it for my venue. I'm torn between oil based and water based though. I'd really prefer oil based. I just can't justify spending mad amounts of money on something. ($1,500 is what I'm seeing for oil.)
FYI - the venue is a little over 7,000 square feet or, more appropriately, 99,000 cubic feet.
I've had the Antari Fazer mentioned above operated in my hall by a DJ friend that owns one and, it fills the place but, it still is too much like fog. I want something optically almost unnoticed and I think oil is going to have to be the route to go.
American DJ makes an oil based hazer for around $400 (I forget the exact model) but, Dan from X-Laser shows it in his video. My concern is whether it is big enough for my venue. I really don't want to have to buy two.
If you are only going to use it at home.. I would suggest just to go with a cheap fogger and put a fan near it to circulate the air around.

Brad-
for a 7,000/99K space you are going to need two hazers no matter what you do. At some point early in the night the HVAC is going to kick on and you are going to lose all of the haze. Oil will serve you the best for that size space.
Chauvet is having a LOT of problems with their new arena design. They are working hard on fixing them but i have used three in the last year, two just stopped working and the third consumed juice like it was going out of style. Went through almost two gallons per day.
If you need to fill that much real estate you just simply need more than one machine. Sorry man!
Sigh.... I know. Just being hopeful.
EVERYTHING in this big of a facility seems to cost more. Or require more than a normal about. Take lasers for example.... you can't get away with just one or two!![]()
