Unhappy Scan PSU just died ( I Think ) :(

    Hello laserist!

I was fiddling around with my K12n scan set and the scanner's psu just died
    on me
I was tuning the amp to give it a good pattern using soundcard DAC and running a Ilda test pattern,
    suddently it just died
I disconnect the psu from the amp and I see red led indicator flashing slowly
and when I connect it to the amp , the indicator slowly dims
Im 95% sure that the amp are fine but it looks like the psu wont supply any current just alittle turn tick the fan
is there any chance I can repair it or do I have to invest in a new psu?

sorry for my poor english :P

any question or answer would be appreciated

    Philipp

I don't know if anyone on the forums is familiar with this particular scanset. That may be the reason why no one is responding.

I'd say the best thing you can do to help out your situation is post some pictures of your set up and then we can at least see some of what you are seeing.

Heck maybe the scanners you have are just labeled differently and may be something a few of us are familiar with.

    Best regards,
    Max

Also in the mean time, I would stay away from plugging your amp into your PSU. You might cause some damage to it - if it hasn't been done already.

The K12n's are the german name for the laserpic 12k scanners.

It soulds like the scanner psu probably is not the issue. Does the power supply still tick when the scan amps are not plugged in? If it doesn't, you have a problem on the scan amp.

Yea the PSU still ticks even without amp connected to it
I just send the PSU to a local electronic repair shop
after its repaired I have to readjust it to +-18 right? with a power meter
Ill post the results tomorrow when I get my PSU on monday

    cheers
