Laser Warning FS or trade Ruby Laser

    Hi folks,
for sale or trade with laser related item (i.e. DPSS green laser > 200 mW not handheld) here is a motor q-switched ruby laser the most known between laser hobbyist. The laser has been fired very few times, the flashlamp is perfect as well the ruby rod and all the assembly. I bought it new several years ago for big bucks. It's not oneof the almost abused one you will find (rarely nowadays) on ebay.

If anyone interested feel free to post an offer .

    Regards

    Mario

(here's some pic of the laser)

No sorry, will be very heavy to send, SAM's faq is plenty of schematic to DIY a suitable PSU for this laser. Anyway I can provide several low esr capacitors designed for pulsed operation.

    Thanks

    Cool

Very nice! What are the dimensions of the rod?

Do you know what the original output rating (in joules) of this laser was?

The rod is 3" X.25" capable of around 3J with the Q-switch. This is the same unit I have.

Uhm, 3 Joule, very optimistic guess, perhaps the rod itself is capable of such power, not this laser assembly: according also with the Sam's faq and more realistically with the absolute power rating of the flashlamp can push out more or less 200 mJ ;-)

Well,,,, Uh,,, I got 3,000,000 Mega Joules out of mine!

Yeah, You are right. I think I just pulled that number out of my ass one night. I thought that was correct but I was obviously wrong. According to Sam's....

"Maximum output pulse energy: 50 mJ. However, the maximum output energy could indeed be a bit higher than this at the maximum input energy of around 125 joules."

    see link...

    Thanks!
