If you really want good beam shots; pause the show and then take your picture. That way the frame is still and you can take a few to get the best one; then start the show back up. And don't forget to post them all here for us to enjoy.

That's cool, but I'm not sure if I can pause the show or not. See this link:

The alesis xt-20 does not appear to have a pause function. Whenever you hit stop, the scanners stop and you lose the graphics. After reading almost the entire 100 something page manual, it seems as though pausing is impossible. Although pausing is mentioned in the manual, it never says you can do it, or how. Quite odd.

You can also just open up a good frame in an editor; the only problem with this is if you find a good frame in a show, it more than likely is being used with an effect. Opening the same frame might not look the same as it does running in the show.

Wait, I forgot how you are running yours. You don't have an editor do you?

Exactly. He doesn't have a controller yet. Just the ADAT unit, which is tied directly to the projector. And without a pause, he can't freeze an image. Oh well...

Alright, pics are up! Look in the gallery. I only put up a few, I took 349 , but many were deleted and more need editing. I will post more as I can. The video didn't turn out very good I never could get the lighting right, it just looks blurry.

    Thumbs up

Those look like nice diffraction shots. The negative aspect makes for an interesting picture.

Thanks! Some of my favorite shots are negatives. As you already know, the pics don't do it justice. It looked like heaven when I looked back at the projector, beams flying directly overhead. It was the first time I'd seen a laser running in a nice hazy environment. I definately "get it." The best hobby ever!

Looks like you managed to get the PCAOM re-aligned correctly. (I warned you not to take the screw all the way out!) Glad you were able to get it working again.

    Nice pics, Johnathan!

Thanks! Btw, I could never get the PCAOM realigned such that the graphics were colored correctly, however, when I ran the beam through the beam splitter lens effect, the colors became separated quite nicely. Allowing me to snap some of the shots.
