    Default Demo version of LivePro??

Is there such thing as a demo/evaluation version of LivePro that I can download and get to grips with anywhere?

I have and FB3 + LP on it's way but I really wan't an insight into it before it turns up and just don't seem to be able to find anything of this ilk anywhere?

    Thanks
    Jim

Yes there is a LivePro demo, but not sure it's available for non-pangolin users. you should send Bill a email and ask him.

I never had to wait for mine to arraive as they emailed the license image and Bill gave me a link to the download on the site. Not sure that you get anything more than that on the disk but if you do I WANT A DISK!

A demo version of livepro on the FB3 would be great, demos of software tend to help me spend more money.

OK - have been looking into this a little with help from a few forum members via PM's....
    Thank you
It seems that without Pangolin hardware on your PC, when you try and run the LiveProDemo.exe file it starts to install something but then stops and won't go any further. With hardware connected I am sure it will work??
I really don't understand why Pangolin do this? surely a demo version of their software will sell their software as people can evaluate what they want to purchase?
As you said Haymaker - an FB3 should be sold with a demo version of LP on it's disk in my eyes as it's the software to have/use with one

Any answers from Bill as to why this is?

    It's now working a treat.
    Thanks to everyone who helped.

I'd be interested in a demo version too - if by that you mean a copy of the program which does everything except actually drive a laser. My FB3 spends a lot more time as a dongle than as an actual laser interface. It'd be really nice to be able to fiddle with a show in offline mode without having to make a date with the projector.
The last version of LiveQuick I downloaded had this, and it's great - although (and I don't know whether this is just some sort of local problem with my rather cluttered laptop OS) it's horribly unstable: I don't think I've ever ended a session without using Control Alt Delete.

I can't speak for the FB3 version, but for the QM-2000 version of LivePro, you *can* start the software without the hardware connected. When you do this, the software starts up in Demo mode. You can still play around with it to learn how to use it, but you can't control any hardware with it (obviously), and you can't save your work.

It's handy if you want to experiment, but if you want to actually build a show you have to have the QM-2000 board installed. Then again, you need the board in order to run LaserShow Designer (Pangolin's ILDA editor), so if you're creating a LivePro workspace you'll probably have the board installed anyway since you'll want to have LSD running.
