Laser Warning First RGV laser display

    Hi All,

This is my first attempt at designing a show to music. I've used an NRG 475mW RGV laser with Moncha. Ok, it's a little basic, but I'm quite pleased for a first effort.

    Comments, improvements, thoughts, very welcome

For your first show that looks great!

I take it that your projector is TTL and not analog. Is my assumption correct?

If it is analog, I would suggest more fades in and out, for the music choice I felt it was a bit too abrupt. But if you only have TTL, then you are doing very well for not having analog modulation.

    Best regards,
    Max

    Hi Max,

Thanks for the comments. Yes, TTL unfortunately. I'm just getting into this laser game... I've been wanted to get involved for years and years, but never got round to it. Happen to find a broken green laser on eBay and it went from there... Can certainly be expensive!! My aim is to upgrade to a more powerful analogue laser with a good blue... but in the meantime, going to try and get a bit more experienced in designing these shows...... great fun :-)

You said it! The blue is the hardest part, especially once you get above the half a watt range

Analog modulation is most certainly the way to go. But I'll admit the first laser I purchased was a Lasever 100mw 532nm TTL modulation. I had no idea what TTL or Analog modulation was. But PL is a great place to be when you are starting your adventure into lasers. You are literally swimming in a weath of knowledge.

Tell me about it!! My first laser was DMX only, but nowhere could I find a definitive answer on the differences between DMX and ILDA. So, once I'd worked it out that DMX was no good for creating your own images I thought it was time to upgrade!! It wasn't until after I'd received the current laser that I realised that TTL only gives you 7 colours, and no fading.... oh well... anyway, it's not as if I could afford anything better at the moment ;-)
