Have you tried bigger lenses McCarrot?
I have lenses up to -12.0 diopters but haven't tried any scanning with them as I'm unable to measure the effects from an MPE point of view. It would be interesting to know your findings on larger lenses regarding power increases and beam appearance (although obviously I'm not going to rely on these for safety myself, just curious).
If anyone's interested the lenses I have are -2.0, -4.0, -6.0. Obviously they can also be combined in several different ways up to the maximum.

I have one at home over here. A -2.7 lens
And indeed, when you move the lens further from the galvos . the scan area gets wider, but if you place it, just like doc does, it doesn't really widen your scan area.
Also these are plastic lenses. So, much more power lose.. But that's the intention, not to widen the scan area angle.

Yes -12 lenses will give you a extreme fat beam, more like a moving head. I think bigger than -4 or -6 is useless as it will not look like a laser anymore, and LED lights are much cheaper
It would be better to have - 0,5 -1 -2 -3 and -4 lenses to play with, but -4 will only be usefell in very small venues (like your livingroom)
