    im sorry to say

    but paint dont work

    i tried using krylon fusion (special paint for plastic/rubber)on orange power cords
    and after like 5 coats it was all black and it lasted one gig (looked like shit afterward)

    Ive got a belkin one and that's a dark grey colour? or you can always make one from some 25 core cable

    Get a packet of RIT black fabric dye and soak your cables in that, as long as they are standard, no glossy coat on the cables it should take the dye up and that's about as close as you can get....
