Default Stanwax's rebuild of my RGB

    Hi all

Well, it's been a long time getting the photo's posted due to a multitude of reasons, but here they are at last.

The projector contains a ~200mW Lasever blue, a ~420mW 660nm dual Maxyz setup (rebuilt into a vertical setup), a Laserwave ~300mW 640nm and a ~300mW Laserwave green. I took the opportunity to upgrade the scanners and stuck some of those cheap CT6215h's in there (note the HUGE dual power supplies) .

The more observant amongst you will notice that there is a space at the side of the blue laser. This is for a 445nm, or maybe even replace the whole thing with a 500mW 457nm. I have some saving up to do first though

It's also worth noting the angle of the laserwave red, this has been done to get the best out of the custom 'Semrock' dichro.

The case came from Simon (Pit8ull) and Mark (Insanity). It still needs a bit of finishing off, I have to put the plate in place that will isolate the optics and add a scanfail device and possibly a colour correction board, but so far so good

All in all a great build, and i'm indebted to Rob (stanwax) for his efforts on my behalf.

    Cheers

    Jem

    Jem,
A very nice piece of engineering
Every time I've seen the projector running it has that "wow" factor about it

    All the best,

Is that a little 445nm module I see there?? Nice!

Probably the first time I have seen a projector red heavy at full power

    Awesome!

No, sadly no 445 or 457 as yet. The blue you see is a Lasever 473 ;-)

Is this what laserwave units look like inside? Was expecting them to look more like CNIs. This blue reminds me of what my green lasever and lambdapro look like internally.

Is there a technical reason why the big red is at an angle or were the holes just drilled in the wrong place for the dichro?

The reason is angle tuning of the Semrock dichro, this angle obtains maximum reflectivity and therefore minimum losses

    Indeed it is

I had two of these units, one of them had gone low power. Rob is trying to repair it. The idea was to mount the two units side by side in the original casing and combine them with a PBS to make ~400mW.
