    Yeah, but the way things are going I bet I probably wont! Dad may lose his Job, which means he will lose his car which means I can't get very far at all.

    Just going to keep saving up anyway, something might come up in the future - best be prepared.

    Sorry to hear about your dads gig.

    BTW: Leeds has a mainline railway station, and I am pretty sure National Express also stop there (Probably via Digbeth coach station <shudder>).

    It was measured by Simon before dispatch and was doing 1.54W but he did say with a fine alignment and freshly cleaned optics it should do 2W.

    I was thinking about getting one actually before this came up, I was hoping for an RGB you see The whole 30W q-switched thing scares me.

    Quite rightly!
    Them things are scary, (As well as a lot of work to convert to a really useful form factor) and it was said with tounge well in cheek.

    Lightforce.de are listing a 909 argon doing north of 3W for 600 euros, not RGB, and probably been worked hard, but as a cheap intro to ion lasers (And you could always add a 640 red diode)...
