Default Help with a current rating...

Hi guys, I have a ~120mW green laser module here from a pointer, and want to build a new driver for it. Problem is, the old driver is completely wrecked, so I couldnt take any current readings.

Anyone have any idea's on what kind of current I can feed the pump diode on this thing?

    Cheers,
    Dan

Typically with good lab modules they use a slightly underdriven 1W pump diode for 120-150+mW (even as high as 200mW), so I'd think anywhere between 750mA to 1.2A. I have no idea if there is actually a 1W diode in your module, though, or if they're just overdriving a weaker diode..

I'm not sure on the quality of the module (It looks pretty nice), so I'll stick to around ~700ma and see what happens. I'll measure it on a power meter and see if I can push it back up to its original power.
