Who is supplying the collimating optics? Nice work there indeed.....no we just need a bosst of USGB on the diodes to fill all these hosts.

Very nice looking, Laserman! Good work. Would it be possible to include shims for fine tuning the diode mount and mirror mount heights, in case we want a beam spacing closer than about 3.2mm?

The beams from this in red should be very impressive

    Nice work!

As it is, you are going to have big stability issues with this design tho

    Hi Dave!
How so? You may be right but I just don't see it.

LOL, you may be right...with 8 diodes, 8 adjustable mounts with two aixis each mirrors, PBS cubes, and a whole list of other shit that can go wrong...that is quite the understatement, but until someone else comes up with something better, its pretty much the only game in town

Unless you have some specific information, all lasers have some sort of stability issues.

What design would you suggest as an alternative?

Thats pretty. I think 650 down one side and 640 down the other would be excellent.

The mirror mounts will not need to be shimmed. Those adjustments are made by precise location and glueing of mirrors.

I will provide a small kit of shim stock for the aixiz holders, but as a rule shimming for optimal performance will be left up to the individual building the kit. There are too many variables in the different kind of diodes which could be used...so some experimentation will be necessary.

The kit is a starting point and fine tuning will require on hands finesse.

    Probably something that

    - Has provision for TEC cooling
    - Has all the diodes mounted in one block, not 4 blocks.
