The beam alignment tool is sweet. Only good enough for coarse alignment though.

Some time back I built a 7 Color Pointer. Mine uses a very different method to combine the beams. I wanted to keep it compact.

    Here are some pictures.

    Nice.

The alignment isn't bad, I'm currently working on dial in from about 200ft. Not too hard just requires some tweaking back and forth.
The most time consuming part is getting the turning mirror in alignment by hand. My first attempt did not correctly collimate the beam and the exit aperture. But after the second alignment it looks pretty good. I just wish the green laser was the same diameter beam as the red and blu-ray

Nice! You should have built it in to a Model 29 S&W!

Yeah - the design and schematic was all yours ... I just put in some ideas, a little food for thought .

Those heatsinks look exceptional... I wonder what skilled individual made them...

I wonder what skilled individual designed them?

Actually credit needs to go to Rog8811 for the hack

I designed the adjustable heat sink mounts after finding out what a pain it was to tweak the alignment the way things were.

misterwilling did a fine job reproducing the heat sinks for me.

    Default Progress!

Hi guys, I have been out of the laser loop for some time due to overwork and too many other things to design and build.
I am so impressed with the way that this project has progressed since the first design was cobbled together some 2 years ago. A lot of time and effort has been put into the optics and drivers by a number of LPF members, I am proud of the lot of you!
A reminder of the first one
