will the usb version handle 2 watts as well
also it would be cool if you posted a feature list and release date on both products
and what about the 10w version i heard about ??
-
Both the USB and the Pro are capable of measuring lasers from 1-5000mW
-
the 10W version you heard about was a completely different thermopile. Used a coherent. I'm not releasing yet what brand of thermopile I'm using in this one. Just suffice it to say it is by a reputable laser power meter manufacturer.

I think it's really tricky deciding on your product line, but I think that only having your Pro one able to be used standalone, effectively cuts out some of your market.
I don't know about anyone else, but with the new ways of measuring shows, I need a meter that I can carry with me out into the scanning/performance area and take a reading, without needing to cart my laptop (which is probably running the show anyway) along too.
You sort of had a niche market previously in your old meter, as it was useful for higher powers than the laserbee, whilst still being portable and standalone and cheap! There really isn't anything else like that around.
-
You have a valid point and I'm exploring other options for this. The primary reason I've not gone towards a simple meter like that though is that folks would expect the price point to be roughly $150 and with a true thermopile sensor, it's just not a viable option for that low.

I know everybody is asking for different things here, but I think this is not very difficult to do.
Could you maybe still make a 'DVM' version with only the thermopile and amp, that connects to a DVM.
It would be just leaving the USB voltmeter out ...

That is basically what his USB Kenometer will do without the onboard display...
You would need to get a standard Kenometer if you wanted an output display
without using a Computer... or get a Kenometer Pro...
Correct me if I'm wrong Ken...
I guess one would need to balance their needs with their budget....
I would like to get a new Harley for $1000.00.... but that ain't gonna happen either... IMO

TBH I never saw the original meter before, so that may be what I'm looking for
-
That was the original Kenometer.

Just to give an idea what I would like as a hobbyist. I would consider buying you new usb version if it had small lcd (4digits) for standalone applications with a battery for the same price you suggested ($250).
