I just read an interesting article in The Guardian about (the "Back Story" of) Avatar.
CUH !! The things you learn from Newspapers these days ...............

No not nice, but while not disagrreeing with the history particularly, one should remember that the tie to the movie is being made by a writer for a left wing paper (albiet one of the better ones). It is entirely possible that the producers thought they were making "Fern Gully" in space, and nothing more.

I suspect that that story says more about the nature of journalism (both left and right biased) then it does about a rather thin movie plot.

    Corrected, I am.

Now how the heck to process it to two scan heads or one scan head and a EO acting as a waveplate. I have a couple of red/blue EOs. It only needs about 160V to drive the EO as a wave plate.

If k is small then sin (k) ~=k....

Generate X1 as X+c(k-z) and X2 as X-c(k-z) where k is a constant and increasing z means further away. k is set so that k-z = 0 at infinity, and c is set so that at closest point, the inter ocular distance is correct.

Looks like about two opamps or so to me (possibly plus an analogue switch if doing the EO cell thing).

What are these EO cells that work at such a low voltage?
    I want to play too!

    Regards, Dan.
